Murder Plot of Government Official: Five Suspects Remanded In Custody

By SKS

Five individuals accused of plotting to murder the Director General of Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority, Musa Yerroh Barrie appeared in court on Tuesday, with their case adjourned as they remain in custody.

The accused persons appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on Tuesday, 24th June 2025.

The accused persons, Albert Sheriff Soloku, Foday Turay, Musa Kamara, Augustine Rashid Kelfal Josiah, and Kadiatu Kamara, faced a single count charge of proposing to murder, contrary to Section 4 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.

According to the police charge sheet, the alleged conspiracy took place on Friday, 18th April 2025, in Freetown.

The court proceedings included the testimony of Detective Police Constable Alie Kamara from the Criminal Investigation Department, who was cross-examined by defence counsel Maddieu Sesay.

During cross-examination, the defence questioned whether the witness had knowledge of how the complainant received the threatening audio recordings. Detective Kamara responded in the negative, adding that he had forwarded the audio evidence for lab analysis. He also confirmed that the complainant is not a voice expert.

Defence counsel Sesay requested an adjournment to continue cross-examination and renewed their bail application for the accused, which was refused by the magistrate.

The case has been adjourned until July 1st for further proceedings.
