Kabala Woman Held for Fatal Stabbing in Domestic Clash

By Millicent Senava Mannah

A 20-year-old woman, Hawa Tamba, remains in police custody following allegations that she fatally stabbed her fiancé during a domestic dispute reportedly triggered by a disagreement over sexual matters.

The tragic event occurred late Tuesday night in Kabala, Koinadugu District. Eyewitnesses report that an argument between the couple escalated rapidly, culminating in Ms. Tamba using a sharp object to inflict fatal injuries on her fiancé.

Neighbours, alarmed by the screams, rushed to the scene but found the victim already unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at a local health facility.

Police have launched a thorough investigation, and Ms. Tamba is being held pending further legal proceedings.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Kabala community, prompting renewed calls for education on healthy domestic relationships, effective communication, and anger management, particularly among youth.

Community leaders and relationship experts caution that unresolved disputes and poor communication can quickly escalate to violence with devastating consequences. They emphasize the need for couples to engage in open, honest dialogue and to seek help early when conflicts arise.

“Respect, patience, and understanding are the cornerstones of any relationship,” said a local counsellor. “Couples must recognize the importance of addressing their issues calmly and constructively, and not allow anger or frustration to control their actions.”

Experts also warn against suppressing feelings or ignoring warning signs such as jealousy, mistrust, and frequent arguments, which may escalate tensions if left unaddressed.

Families, friends, and community institutions are urged to support young couples by fostering environments where problems can be discussed safely and solutions reached amicably.

This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for continuous awareness campaigns on healthy relationship dynamics and conflict resolution strategies to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Authorities continue to investigate the matter, and further updates will be provided as the case develops.
